Germany - Magdeburg to Minden

The statue of Otto von Guericke sits in pride of place across from the New Town Hall. Otto was a German scientist, inventor, and Mayor of Magdeburg in the 1600s. You can see the famous Magdeburg hemispheres at his feet that he used to explain the physics of vacuums.
